Finley Turns 2

 

It was a basketball birthday this year! You still LOVE basketball. You love playing it, dribbling, watching it on TV or watching other going to watch basketball games. "Basketball" is your first 3-syllable word. Your birthday present was a sturdier metal rim indoor hoop that you could practice with since you have worn out your other indoor hoops.

We celebrated early one weekend with the Morlans. We went tailgating at the ND vs. Stanford game (ND won! They are doing great this year so far–undefeated).

We're just so happy to have you in our family. You love doing everything your siblings do. You lay in bed with Anica and read with her before bed. You copy everything crazy Drexler does. Some of your favorite things to do now are:

1. Playing basketball, obviously (your basketball vocabulary has now expanded to include "block," "defense," and "slam dunk")

2. Watching Signing Time (you have a ton of signs right now!)

3. Jumping on the trampoline in the backyard

4. Playing outside

5. Stacking blocks/making towers

6. Reading

7. Dancing to whatever "Alexa" plays (although your favorite song is "Believer" by Imagine Dragons)

8. Watching basketball on TV

9. Carrying around a black stuffed weiner dog

10. Movie nights with the big kids

11. Soccer

12. Baseball

13. Climbing

14. Wrestling

15. Being "Dangerous Baby"

16. Football

17. iPhone

18. "Fighting"

19. Pretending to see ghosts with Drexler

20. "Helping" w/ laundry & dishes

21. Bubble Baths

22. Shoes

23. Laptops

24. Running around naked with Drexler after a bath

25. Everyone else's food

26. Popcorn

27. Turning off the vacuum while Mom tries to use it

29. Having somebody copy what you're saying

30. Swimming

You are gradually getting better at sleeping. You will sleep through the night, but still wake up extremely early, often before anyone gets up to get ready for school in the morning.

 Cousin tailgate party while you sleep in the stroller. This trip ended with a stick getting lodged in this stroller's wheels and Henry being launched out of it, face planting on the cement with some nasty bruises, blood, and swelling.

This is a picture of you at Uncle Zach's wedding, October 6th. You are wearing Build-A-Bear glasses that came with Drexler's Bananas monkey that he babysat that weekend. Bananas is his kindergarten class pet.
