Finley Turns 3

You turned 3 this week! We celebrated with a Notre Dame vs. USC tailgate with family followed by a Hot Wheels themed party at home. You play with Hot Wheels cars and tracks every day, and you loved all the new cars and books you were gifted. You even loved the toilet paper the Mitchells gave you because, for whatever reason, you and Drexler enjoy hugging rolls of toilet paper whenever I take you to the store. I have to pull you away from the toilet paper displays to get to whatever we really need to buy.

We've had an exciting year with plenty of trips to Lake Michigan, the zoo, and you even attended your first Chicago Cubs game and went geode mining near the Iowa/Illinois border. You still love sports (basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, baseball, pretty much anything) and you're a terrific dancer. I love watching your new dance moves you create. You are also getting pretty good at singing along with lyrics, which is fun to watch.

Because Mikan is in middle school now, his bus leaves an hour later that the other kids'. This means he has extra playtime with you every morning. He sometimes reads to you or you play with your Hot Wheels cars together. It's nice to see you spending quality time with your big brother.

You are talking much better and putting full sentences together. Our Alexa is able to understand you better, which means you are able to turn up songs to volume 10 when we aren't paying attention (or ask her to play "Annoying Sounds."). You know your ABCs and can count to 20. You also know the words to "Old Town Road" as well as a choreographed version of the song that your siblings created.

This month we went zip lining at Uncle Mark and Aunt Betty's house. You didn't want to zip line, but you really liked swinging from the rope underneath the zip line platform.

We are so happy to have you in our lives Finley! You like to cuddle and wrestle and just be silly, something we all need. Happy Birthday little man!
